My home-- just a ten minute stroll to the shops, breweries and restaurants of charming downtown Decatur and a 10 to 15 minute drive to all of eastern Atlanta's favorite neighborhoods-- sits on a quiet residential street with no outlet, tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still accessible. Despite being so close to nightlife, dining, shopping and more, this space is far enough from the smog and light pollution of the city that on a clear night I often enjoy sitting in the yard to stargaze. There are only eight homes on this street, three of which are used as the homebase for an outdoor adventure afterschool program. These are typically only in use on weekday afternoons. Explore the city in your vehicle or leave it safely in the driveway and walk to one of the two nearby Marta (public transportation) train stations, both conveniently located less than ten minutes away by foot.
