PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING:
Our homestead is completely off-grid.  We recommend that you have your own septic and solar for powering your devices. You are welcome to stay for free in exchange for 2-3 hours of daily yard/house work.

Vegan VanLife Urban Homested

My home-- just a ten minute stroll to the shops, breweries and restaurants of charming downtown Decatur and a 10 to 15 minute drive to all of eastern Atlanta's favorite neighborhoods-- sits on a quiet residential street with no outlet, tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still accessible. Despite being so close to nightlife, dining, shopping and more, this space is far enough from the smog and light pollution of the city that on a clear night I often enjoy sitting in the yard to stargaze. There are only eight homes on this street, three of which are used as the homebase for an outdoor adventure afterschool program. These are typically only in use on weekday afternoons.

Explore the city in your vehicle or leave it safely in the driveway and walk to one of the two nearby Marta (public transportation) train stations, both conveniently located less than ten minutes away by foot. Bus stations are even closer. Whether you've come to Atlanta to experience our delicious and diverse food and beverage scene, enjoy a concert or theatre performance, soak up the sun in one of our beautiful parks, hike surrounded by lush greenery parallel to the Chattahoochee river, tour filming locations from your favorite tv shows and movies, visit our art museums and galleries, or just relax and explore, don't miss this opportunity to stay right in the heart of it all.

I am a relatively private person, so the main home (including restroom) is off limits to guests. I am, however, excited to meet you and hear about your travels! If you are not the extroverted type, just shoot me a message and we can keep our interactions to a friendly wave here and there-- no hard feelings. 

Quiet hours begin at 10 pm. Please no loud music, shouting, revving engines or talking at above a normal volume, etc after this time. No parties, ever. This is a residential street... your best judgement and neighborly respect is requested and expected.

There is a separate entrance to the home which may be used to do laundry at an additional cost of $10 per load. Organic detergent and dryer sheets will be provided. Pets are welcome to stay but must remain leashed at all times per City of Decatur law... and per request by my not-so-dog-friendly dog, Daisy. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in an additional charge of $10 (if you find yourself in need of a poop bag, I have plenty). 

Marta trains do pass nearby frequently; if the noise created by these and their occasional honking will keep you from getting the rest you need, I encourage you to seek other arrangements.
